No. Challenges on Pactive are completely free to join. Brands cover the cost of rewards. You just need to show up every day and complete your streak.
What happens if I miss a day?
Your streak resets to Day 1. No drama, no penalty. Just the very specific sting of watching your friends stay on Day 9 while you start over. That is usually enough.
What kind of rewards are we talking about?
Real things from real brands. Products, vouchers, memberships — things with actual value. Not points. Not badges. The specifics depend on each challenge, and brands are confirmed before they go live.
Can I do a challenge without inviting friends?
Yes. You can join solo and use it as a personal accountability tool. A lot of people do. The friend layer is optional, but most people find it changes things once they try it.
Is the app live right now?

How does the check-in actually work?
Depending on the challenge, you verify with GPS (the app confirms you are at a relevant location like a gym or park), a photo of your activity, or a self-report. The verification method is listed clearly on every challenge before you commit.
